Yesterday morning one of my favorite artists Katherine Sandoz text me and asked if I would possibly be out in Vernonburg, which if you are familiar with area it isn't one you just stumble upon. I knew anything she was planning on doing would be interesting and full of interesting people and great light, so how could I say no. It was a great time and it was as if I stepped into a more artsy Steel Magnolias movies with ladies nicknamed "the silver foxes" or "les grandes dames", a husband called "cowboy", a man name Shellman (that sounds so southern to me), and a kid named "hambone". Katherine...
Had a great time at Katherine's house photographing for our friend Ikeda. I am not sure if we laugh more or work more when we are together, and here is our lovely model we worked with that day. Ikedas website will be going up shortly and will share. Ikeda is probably one of my favorite person to work with on a shoot.
I was so thrilled when one of my first brides asked me to photograph for her business. I love her tshirts, her headbands, towels, bedspreads, crib sheets. She has really expanded her business and I think that is just awesome! You can find her link here
By far the best assignment I have ever done. Probably about 12 years ago I approached Savannah magazine looking to do some editorial work. I was young, fumbled all over myself and was not quite there. I thought this article was amazing at explaining the work it takes to have your own business. It always amazes me how opportunities come around full circle and I photographed my own daughters for the cover. Thank you thank you !
What a show! Great job featuring Savannah and everything it has to offer! What an amazing deserving family they chose for the Extreme Makeover. Although it was fun to see my photos for a few very few half a second on tv it was an absolute delight to be a part of this. A big thank you to JT Turner for recommending me for the family photos. Here are a few I can finally share since it has aired.
I had the great honor to photograph the family for The Extreme Makeover. I have not seen the photographs hung yet so I am looking forward to when it airs early next year. Here are a few that were out takes from the family session. It was crazy fast, family was being pulled filming to me and back again. What a sweet sweet family. You can see how much they love each other and how they love to give to others. How awesome to see such a deserving special family have this blessing. Here is their website for their beautiful little boy http://prayforzoe.com/ I will share more after the show airs.
